Industrial fiber optic transceivers how to access the network
July 18, 2023
Because the maximum transmission distance of the network cable (twisted pair) that we often use has very big limitation, the maximum transmission distance of general twisted pair is 100 meters. Therefore, when we are laying larger networks, we have to use relay equipment. Of course, other types of lines can also be used for transmission, such as optical fiber is a good choice. Optical fiber transmission distance is very long, in general, single-mode optical fiber transmission distance of 10 kilometers or more, and multi-mode fiber transmission distance can reach up to 2 kilometers. When using fiber optics, we often use industrial fiber optic transceivers. Then the problem came, how to use industrial-grade optical transceivers and how does it access the network?
We all know that a network is made up of various kinds of optics, and industrial-grade fiber optic transceivers are an important part of it. When accessing an industrial-grade optical fiber transceiver, the optical fiber cable is first introduced from the outside. The optical cable must be welded in the cable box, which is the terminal box. The fusion of fiber optic cable is also a door of learning. It is necessary to strip the cable, weld the fine fiber in the cable to the pigtail, and weld it in the box. The pigtails are pulled out, attached to the ODF (a shelf, connected by a coupler), and then connected to the jumper by a coupler, and finally the jumper is connected to an industrial fiber optic transceiver. The next order of connection is router----switch----LAN---host. In this way, industrial-grade fiber optic transceivers are connected to the network.
Industrial-grade optical transceivers break the 100-meter limitation of Ethernet cables in data transmission, and rely on high-performance switching chips and large-capacity caches to provide real-time non-blocking transmission switching performance while providing balanced traffic and isolation. Features such as collisions and detection errors ensure high security and stability in data transmission.
